Margaret’s dad is a wonderful solid rock. Honestly, she drives me insane, but it’s like she can’t help herself. Margaret’s mother is so passive aggressive she made me want to pull my hair out. She’s fun, throws caution to the wind & loves her sister. I love that Margaret’s sister Kitty returns at the most stressful time & waltzes in. What makes this book special to me are the characters. This book also made me smile & think about all the people I’ve known who met their worst day & came back from it. How To Walk Away is heartfelt & funny. I seriously laughed out loud in a few parts. This could easily be a sappy story, but it’s not. I really enjoy Katherine Center’s writing style. With the help of her estranged sister, Kitty, her very patient Dad & meddling mom, she handles it all. Right off the bat, I connected with this story. One of the main characters in the book is a physical therapist, same as me. It plays a small part, but it was nice reading about Tex-Mex & Horseshoe Bay. I was pleased to learn my hometown of Austin, Texas is featured in the book. Luckily, I posted a pic on Instagram prior to reading it & the author, Katherine Center, reached out to me & said to not begin reading it while on a plane. Heed This Advice on How To Walk Away by Katherine Center Oh, this book is great! How To Walk Away by Katherine Center came highly recommended by many of my book-loving friends so I didn’t even read the synopsis before starting.
